Since 1981, Joanne Thring and her firm, Filigree Design, have been turning houses into homes.

 "The architectural style sets the stage," says Joanne, "but my goal is to create a setting that is warm, elegant, and personal." 

Since the mid-1990's, residents of Toronto’s established neighbourhoods have relied on Joanne Thring’s unerring décor sense and keen designer’s eye to transform the uninspired spaces in their homes into beautiful and inviting interiors. 

Principal and founder of Filigree Design, Joanne believes that comfort and style are utterly compatible.  She has decorated houses that range from mid-century modern to traditional, from classic Rosedale Georgian to Muskoka cottage. 

Joanne provides consultation and direction on both large and small design projects, working closely with clients to select fabrics, textures, and colours that will reflect an original style and sensibility. 

“Most people know the way they want to live, and how they want the room to feel,” says Joanne, “I just nudge those ideas into three dimensions.”
